Habib Bank Beijing Branch, the firstPakistani bank to operate in Beijing, held an opening ceremony in Beijing onMar 22, 2021. Mr. Xie Guoxiang, Minister Counsellor for Economic andCommercial, Mr. Moin ul Haque, Pakistan's ambassador to China, addressedonline.
Xie extended warm congratulations toHBL for opening the Beijing Branch. He said that financial integration is oneof the Five- Approach under the Belt and Road Initiative, and the financialinstitutions of the two countries played a significant role in the first stageof CPEC. China is entering a new phase of development. Simultaneously, the CPEC is access to thegrade of high-quality development, focusing on bilateral industrial andagriculture cooperation, which puts forward higher requirements for the serviceand support of financial institutions. Xie hopes commercial banks could providemore excellent financial services to support entrepreneurs from both countries,targeting the industrial and agricultural, and strengthening the bilateraleconomic and commercial cooperation.
