Thesecond batch of Covid-19 vaccine donated by the Chinese government arrived atIslamabad on March 17, 2020, a handing-over ceremony was held at the Nur Khan PAFBase. Mr. Xie Guoxiang, Minister Counsellor for Economic and CommercialAffairs, Mr. Faisal Sultan, SAPM on Health, Mr. Amir Ashraf Khawaja, Secretaryof National Health attended the ceremony.
Xie said,the first batch of Chinese Covid-19 vaccine donation arrived at Pakistan onFebruary 1, 2021, helping to kick off the Pakistani coronavirus vaccinationcampaign. Today, the second batch of 500 thousand doses of vaccine for one moretime is delivered. Pakistan is the country receiving the largest number ofChinese vaccines in the world, which well interprets and showcases the ironbrother relationship between China and Pakistan. He believes that with thedonation and introduction of Chinese vaccine the Covid-19 pandemic in Pakistanwill be effectively contained in the coming future.
Sultanexpressed gratitude to the Chinese government for donating another batch ofvaccine. He praised the safety and effectiveness of the Chinese vaccine and emphasizedthat Pakistan is experiencing the third wave of pandemic, the arrival ofChinese vaccine is vital for continuous inoculation in Pakistan.
Xiesigned the Handing-over Certificate of this batch of vaccine with the Pakistanicounterpart before the ceremony.
