China willing to share agricultural experience with Pakistan

Nov. 19 (China Economic Net) - China is willing toshare experience in agricultural, rural and industrial development withPakistan, jointly safeguard regional food security and enhanceindustrialization in Pakistan, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong saidduring the Webinar on China-Pakistan Agricultural Cooperation & Prospectsheld on Thursday.

Addressing the webinar,the Ambassador hailed the meeting of great significance as it focuses on seedindustry, agricultural product processing and agricultural investment.

Talking about theagricultural cooperation programs under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC), he suggested to strengthen cooperation in germplasm resources, geneticsand breeding, disease and pest control, product processing, capacity buildingand technology transfer to help Pakistan enhance its agricultural modernizationlevel, increase grain yields and effectively safeguard national food security.

According to Mr. NongRong, China is willing to step up communication and coordination with Pakistan,push for the completion of inspection and quarantine procedures as soon aspossible, and facilitate Pakistani exports of cherry, onion, potato and otheragricultural products to China at an early date.

The Ambassador alsocalled for the establishment of regular communication channels for informationon agricultural industry cooperation, promoting B2B commercial cooperationbetween Chinese and Pakistani enterprises, and encouraging investmentcooperation in seed industry, agricultural materials, agricultural machinery,agricultural product processing and cold-chain warehousing.

"Next year will markthe 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China andPakistan," he said, expressing his expectation that the two countriescontinue to strengthen cooperation in agriculture and other fields under CPECso that “the dividends and positive outcomes of thecorridor will be more widely shared by the two peoples".
