The Orange Line Metro project was completed and inaugurated on 25th October2020. It is the first large-scale transportation infrastructure projectimplemented under the “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor” and the “Belt andRoad” Initiative as well as the first Urban Rail transit project in Pakistan.The line spans 27 km and sets 26 stations, handling 250,000 passengers per day.The project was jointly constructed by China State Railway Group and ChinaNorth Industries Corporation (NORINCO) and operated together by NORINCO, GuangzhouMetro Group and Daewoo Pakistan. Being the first Subway in Pakistan, the OrangeLine project fully adopts Chinese technology, Chinese standards, Chineseequipment, and begins the metro era in Pakistan, making great contribution tolocal economy and community.
